Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation developed as a result of civic minded citizens who wanted to coordinate recreation activities throughout the County and manage the rapid growth of the programs for the benefit of county citizens.As a result Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation was formed and came into existence on May 11, 1946. Ten days later the organization dedicated its first park in East Millcreek, today over 50 years later -- 70 plus parks, and over 20 recreation facilities we are still "Improving Lives Through People, Parks and Play."

Jr Jazz Basketball Programs Underway

Northwest Recreation Center Breaks Ground
The Northwest Recreation Center broke ground on their new facility September 26, 2008.
